Hermès is celebrating its 175th year with a big new exhibition in London, taking the visitor on a fabulous journey exploring the art of working with leather.

Hermès was founded by Thierry Hermès in Paris in 1837. The company has grown through six generations of artisans and is still remaining true to its main values.

The exhibition at Burlington Gardens is presenting items from Hermès’ past as well as some of its latest creations. Also craftspeople from the Hermès workshops in Paris, are creating some of its iconic bags in situ, demonstrating the art of working with this fine material.

Hermès has created four one-of-a-kind versions of Passe-Guide handbag as a tribute to the UK and Ireland that will be auctioned by Christie’s and all profits will be donated to the Royal Academy of Arts.
