Valentine’s day is getting closer and maybe you think that it’s a commercial festivity and is not for you, but if you have a second thought you can realize that it could be the perfect excuse for an escape to Paris.

This 20-room chic hotel near the red-light district of Pigalle has no phones, televisions or Internet access in the rooms, perfect to spend Valentine’s Day whitout distractions. Each of the 20 rooms is unique, artist-designed, decorated on the theme of love or eroticism. The Hotel Amour bar and outdoor garden has become very popular in Paris nightlife and is frequented by young Parisians. Doubles start at 120 euros.

This effortless cool restaurant runned by the spanish Iñaki Aizpitarte, was recently rated the 9th best restaurant in the world by Restaurant Magazine.
At Le Chateubriand you can expect French cusine with a modern twist. Aizpitarte offers a changing 50€ fix-priced menu with some of the most innovative flavor pairings in Paris.
It´s full every night, so it´s better to make a reservation or to come early and wait for the second seating.

Magnum Photos, this cooperative photography agency, wants to mark Valentine’s Day with an exclusive opportunity, a temporary portrait’s studio to get an unique gift. The portraits realized by Steve McCurry, Paolo Pellegrin, Bruce Gilden and Christopher Anderson, among others, will be presented to the public at Colette from February 14th to 18th, 2012.
The prices of the portraits start in 250€ and the 20% of the profits will be donated  to the charity, Solidarité Sida’s. You can register here.

Also they are releasing a book of small postcards, ”In Love”, exclusively available from Saturday 11th of February 2012 on Magnum Photos Paris and Magnum Gallery in Saint Germain des prés and Colette. And they are holding exhibitions all over Paris. More info:
